Personal care and body art industries comprise of:

| These industries must comply with the Public Health and Wellbeing Regulations 2009. To help them to do this, Health guidelines for personal care and body art industries have been developed. The guidelines provided information on cleaning and sanitization practices required for the personal care industry. These guidelines should be used as a guide to best practice and as a reference tool for people associated with the industry.
Beauty Therapists, Hairdressers, Body Art (e.g. tattoos, body piercing, etc) and Colonic Irrigation establishments within the Glenelg Shire are all required to be registered with the Council. Physical therapy establishments are not required to be registered with Council. Radiation equipment (solariums) are required to be registered with the Department of Health.
The Registered Premises Information Pack has been developed to assist you with the application process, in particular the structural and registration requirements associated with establishing a Health Premises business in the Glenelg Shire.
To register the premises with the Council, please fill in a Health Premises Application Registration Form and submit it to the Council along with: | |
 | The 2012 / 2013 registration fee of $84.90. |  | Detailed plans of the interior layout of the proposed premises in accordance to the Health guidelines. |  | The cleansing and sanitising schedules and procedures that your premises plans to undertake. |

| Before commencing any work on the premises, you should contact Council's Environmental Health Officer.
To transfer the registration of the premises with the Council, please fill in the Health Premises Application Transfer Form below and submit it to the Council along with: | |
 | The 2012 / 2013 Transfer of Registration fee of $42.45. Detailed plans of the interior layout of the proposed premises in accordance to the Health guidelines. The cleansing and sanitising schedules and procedures that your premises plans to undertake. |
