Expressions of Interest - Appointment of Audit and Risk Committee Independent Member

Expressions of Interest are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for appointment as an Independent Member of the Council’s Audit and Risk Committee, commencing on 4 June 2021, for a period of up to four years.

The Audit and Risk Committee is a Committee established under s53 of the Local Government Act 2020 and provides a structured, systematic oversight of Council’s governance, financial reporting, risk management, internal controls and compliance, in order to provide Council with confidence in the integrity of these practices.

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

• Senior business or financial management/reporting knowledge and experience;
• High levels of financial literacy;
• Understanding of corporate risk management and risk management practices;
• Experience in audit processes and/or audit committees;
• Strong communication skills; and
• High level of personal integrity and ethics;

Generally four meetings are held annually, and a meeting allowance is paid to Independent Members.
