MEDIA RELEASE - Hooked On Portland Festival needs your help Finding Nemo

9 January 2018

Marlin and Dory need your help ‘Finding Nemo’ at the Hooked on Portland Festival this Australia Day weekend.

Finding Nemo will be hitting the big screen for another exciting Twilight Cinema event at the Portland Foreshore as part of the Hooked on Portland Festival on Friday 26 January 2018 at about 9pm, when light is appropriate.

Glenelg Shire Council Mayor Cr Anita Rank said the family-favourite Pixar animation is expected to draw a large crowd to the first night of the three-day festival.

“Finding Nemo is one of the most iconic films of this generation and coincides perfectly with the theme of the Hooked on Portland festival,” Cr Rank said.

“I recommend heading down early and getting a good spot on the grass ahead of all the action.

“There will be children’s amusements all day and live music from local father-son duo Dean and Kane Outtram from 6pm to 9pm before the movie.”

Cr Rank said the three-day festival would feature an extensive line-up of local talent from live entertainment to cuisine.

“The festival’s Food Truck Park will showcase favourite local food trucks, Little Black Sow, Tasty Tucker Box, Southern Ranges and more,” Cr Rank said.

“With a bar available and large variety in food on offer, all you need to bring is a picnic rug, something warm to put on as the night goes on and your friends and family for a night out as we countdown to Saturday’s huge line-up of entertainment.”

The following two days will be jam-packed with activities and entertainment, including the Hooked on Portland Fishing Competition kicking off at 6am on Saturday 27 January.

Cr Rank reminds residents to keep updated with all festival information by visiting the Hooked on Portland Facebook page.

“With a large variety of activities and live music acts taking place from 6am to 11pm on Saturday 27 January, make sure you get on the Facebook page and check out what’s on,” Cr Rank said.
