MEDIA RELEASE - Twilight cinema on route to Casterton

3 March 2020

The Twilight Cinema is set to hit the road, with another night of live music, local food and family friendly entertainment planned for Casterton later this month.

Children’s animated movie The Secret Life of Pets 2 will hit the big screen at Casterton’s Island Park on Saturday 21 March as part of the Glenelg Shire Council’s latest pop-up outdoor cinema roadshow.

The event, hosted in conjunction with the Casterton Business Development Association, will take place from 6pm, offering pre-show children’s activities, live music and an array of local food and drink options before the movie screening at 8:30pm.

Tourism and Events Manager Michael Cottee said the Twilight Cinema had become a staple on the shire’s ever growing events schedule.

“We’re thrilled to bring another popular Twilight Cinema event to Casterton this March. These events are an important addition to our annual events calendar, providing a relaxed setting for community members to connect, unwind with local food and drink and enjoy a night under the stars watching a family favourite movie,” he said.

“We are proud to host this particular Twilight Cinema through the support of the Casterton community and we thank the Casterton Business Development Association for their assistance with organising this event.

“Bring your own chair, blanket and picnic rug and settle in for a night of fun family friendly entertainment at the picturesque Island Park reserve.”

Mr Cottee advised community members that donations would be collected upon entry for a national campaign to help assist struggling farmers.

“Eventgoers will have the opportunity give back to those in need, with every gold coin donation upon entry donated to the Lions Club Need for Feed campaign,” he explained.

The Secret Life of Pets 2 continues on the humorous story of terrier Max and his pet friends, following their lives after their owners leave them for work or school each day.
