Glenelg Shire recently played host to teams of riders from Australia and overseas who competed in the inagural Budget Forklifts Tour of the Great South Coast.

This race series is part of the Scody Cup and backed by Tourism Victoria.

This event brought 170 riders and their entourage of over 300 support crew to our beautiful Discovery Coast on 15 and 16 August 2012.

The bike riders and their teams enjoyed the scenic and challenging courses with criteriums held in Portland and Heywood and road races from Portland to Nelson, and Heywood to Casterton.
