Portland
Botanical Gardens: These elegant, sheltered gardens feature wide curving paths, ancient trees, a lily pond with ducks, a fernery and a band rotunda.

Fauna Park: This park is famous for its native wildlife. Has an excellent modern playground in a natural setting plus BBQ and picnic facilities with ample parking space. Public toilets include an accessible toilet. A great time for the whole family.

Foreshore: Spectacular view of the harbour with a vast range of playground equipment suitable for all ages, including a skate park for the older children. Also features two picnic areas with BBQ facilities (one of these areas features a shelter).
 
Dartmoor
Recreation Reserve: The reserve features netball courts, tennis courts and a well kept grassed oval.

Fort O'Hare: is a riverbank picnic area draped in large shady trees and features BBQ and outdoor tables. Perfect for a family picnic.

Village Green: features playground equipment, the spectacular fairy tree carvings, picnic tables and a public toilet.

 
Casterton
Island Park: is a well kept reserve featuring netball courts, tennis courts, picnic areas, toddler's pool, playgrounds, plenty of shade and grassed areas to relax or be active.

Kelpie Trail: runs around the skirts of the main township with sections of the track following along the riverbank. Most of this track is pram friendly.

Nelson: There are three modern playgrounds all located close to the riverbank, kiosk and hotel. One of these playgrounds is fenced with a child safe gate, perfect for young children.

Walking Trails: Nelson also features a variety of walks to the river and the mouth of the river or for more advanced walkers there is the Great South West Walk. There are also river cruises, canoe hire or just try your luck at fishing on the Glenelg River.

 
Heywood
Recreational Reserve: includes tennis and netball courts and well grassed areas.

Riverbank Playground: a riverbank playground with picnic facilities including BBQ, shelter, tables, shade, toilets and walking track along the Surrey River.

Youth Park: features a skate park, BMX track, a half basketball court and children's playground.
 
Merino
Recreation Reserve: features tennis courts, toilets, a grassed oval and ample shade.

Lions Playground: features children's play equipment, BBQ facilities with shelter and public toilet facilities.
 
Narrawong
Foreshore/Recreational Reserve: where the Surry River mouth meets the Tasman Sea; this park features BBQ, shelter, public toilets, picnic tables and an all ages playground.
