The Glenelg Shire Council provides a range of waste management services across the Shire.

| Council provides a waste and recyclables collection service to selected areas within the shire. Details of this service can be seen on the Waste and Recyclables Collection Service page.
Council provides a number of points of disposal for waste at strategic locations around the Shire. These disposal points may be either transfer stations or active landfills. As Council works towards an environmentally responsible approach to waste disposal, transfer stations are progressively being introduced to replace smaller landfills.
Details of waste disposal points can be seen on the Waste Disposal page.
Council actively promotes resource recovery through the Reduction of waste, Re-use of waste and the Recycling of waste. Details of Council's involvement in recycling can be seen on the Recycling page.
Community education about correct waste disposal and recycling is fundamental to improvements in resource recovery from the waste stream and to minimising environmental costs of landfilling. Details of Council's involvement in education can be seen on the Educating about Waste and Recycling page.
The Detox Your Home program was last held at the Glenelg Shire Council on 20 November 2010 and the collection takes place every two years. For more information see link to Detox Your Home webpage below, or contact Council's Resource Management Office on 5522 2308.
