Welcome to the Glenelg Shire Council

Heritage Advisory Committee

The role of the Heritage Advisory Committee is to provide advice to Council on:

1.Development of Council Policy relating to heritage matters..
2.Applications for heritage restoration loans and grants made available by Council.
3.Recommendations on applications made by Council for heritage funding.
4.Act as an information resource to Council’s Heritage Advisor, Council or Council Officers to assist with local information on specific heritage places and objects.
5.Council's heritage objectives and the conservation of heritage assets in the municipality.


Two (2) members of the Glenelg Shire Council (Councillors), one of whom will act in the Chairperson role. One who is proxy.
Between three (3) and five (5) community representatives.
One (1) Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation representative.
One (1) Council's Heritage Advisor


The Advisory Committee shall meet a minimum frequency of quarterly each year.

Meeting Costs:
All Advisory Committee representatives and substitute representatives will be responsible for their own costs incurred in attending meetings of the Advisory Committee.
