MEDIA RELEASE - Glenelg Libraries to play host for first author talk

30 May 2017

Science fiction readers and lovers of young adult fiction are invited to join Ballarat based author J.S. Davidson in her first ever library author talk at the Glenelg Libraries.

J.S. Davidson will present at the Portland Library on 3 June to promote her novel Hunted, the first of her Aztec Saga trilogy, which explores a dystopian world from the perspective of a young protagonist.

J.S. Davidson will also discuss her experiences as a young writer, with her novel initially penned when she was just 20 years old.

Glenelg Shire Council Library and Information Services Manager Yvette Parker said that the Glenelg Libraries were excited to be the first library to ever host the up and coming author.

“It is fantastic that our library will be J.S. Davidson’s first ever library author talk as the young writer will no doubt be appearing at libraries all across Australia in light of her growing success” she said.

“Copies of Hunted recently sold out at the popular Clunes Booktown Festival and we hope to see a similar interest in the book here at the Portland Library.”

Ms Parker encouraged other budding writers, especially younger writers, to attend the author event for a real-life glimpse into the world of writing.

“J.S. Davidson is a fantastic example of how age is no barrier, with the young author now stocked in book shelves in libraries and book stores across Australia and boasts a dedicated online store,” she said.

“Furthermore the author is Ballarat-based and has spent most of her life in Western Victoria, providing a relatable example for many aspiring local authors to pursue a career in writing.”

J.S. Davidson will be at the Portland Library between 11am -12:30pm on Saturday 3 June 2017.

Bookings are preferred for catering purposes. To secure your place at the event please contact Glenelg Libraries on 5522 2265 or email
