The Complex is a purpose-built integrated child and family services facility that is exceeding the national quality standards and provides high quality care and education to children from 8 weeks to 6 years.
Naming of the Building
The name of the building as the ‘Portland Child and Family Complex’ was given a dual name in 2011.
Following consultations with the Traditional Owners of the Portland language area, the Victorian Aboriginal Corporation for Languages (VACL) and in consultation with the broader community, the traditional Dhauwurd Wurrung name "Karreeta Peeneeyt Mara" - meaning Grow Strong People was chosen.
