MEDIA RELEASE - Glenelg Libraries announce new summer reading campaign

21 December 2017

Looking for a relaxing activity over the summer break? Glenelg Libraries have announced the return of their summer reading program, ‘The Read List’.

Glenelg Libraries are once again running the summer reading program encouraging adults throughout the shire to pick up a great Australian read.

Library and information manager, Yvette Parker said the library is excited to offer a large range of novels as part of this year’s campaign.

“The Read List showcases ten Australian New Releases, including favourites like Di Morrissey, Alex Miller, Jane Harper and Garry Disher, there is a book there for everyone,” Ms Parker said.

“All residents need to do is pick up a Read List bookmark, read one of the books listed and return the completed bookmark entry to go into the prize draw. There will be a reading hamper at each of our branches in Portland, Heywood and Casterton to be won.”

Mayor Cr Anita Rank said The Read List program was a great annual initiative to open up further activities within the shire over the break.

“The shire is jam packed full of activities and events this summer and it is fantastic to see there is something for everyone with this program,” Cr Rank said.

“The Read List program allows for residents to develop their minds and discover new things with the extensive range of novels on offer.”
