Welcome to the Glenelg Shire Council

MEDIA RELEASE - Tell us where you complete your daily errands

25 February 2019

Community members living in the Glenelg Shire’s smaller townships are invited to take part in a short community survey to better understand where rural residents travel to for their daily errands.

The community survey, which is currently available online through the Your Say Glenelg website, asks residents to submit feedback on which towns or cities they visit to complete errands such as shopping, banking and collecting mail.

Glenelg Shire Mayor Cr Anita Rank said feedback received would be invaluable for future policy and strategy development.

“All responses received will be essential for community planning and the development of key council documents. By better understanding your shopping locations and travel patterns, we can best plan future workshops and events such as our listening post series,” she said.

“Whether you visit one township to complete all of your errands, or you visit multiple townships, or if the city you visit is outside of the shire boundary, all feedback we receive will be beneficial.”

Cr Rank encouraged all rural residents to take part in the survey.

“We want to hear from all of rural communities, including townships such as Bahgallah, Condah, Digby, Mumbannar, Myamyn, Nelson, Narrawong and more,” she said.

“If you live in a rural area or township, please take five minutes to complete the short online survey so we can discover where you predominately travel to for your errands.”

Residents can access the community survey online via the Your Say Glenelg website at https://yoursay.glenelg.vic.gov.au. Hard copy surveys are also available upon request.
