Welcome to the Glenelg Shire Council

Council Plan

The Glenelg Shire Council is in the final stages of preparing its Council Plan for the next four years (2017-2021).

Council prepares a new Council Plan after each election. The plans are made up of a vision, themes (broad areas of interest and importance), objectives (what we want to achieve) and strategies (how we will achieve them), which drive the direction of Council during their term. In practical terms, the direction helps Council to decide where it will invest its time and resources.

The plan has been informed by two rounds of public consultation. Council would like to thank all those who participated in workshops and made submissions. The draft Council Plan 2017-21 provides a new vision and direction for the shire that is community focused and aims to promote a diverse economy. Council will consider a recommendation to adopt the revised Draft Glenelg Shire Council Plan 2017-21 at its meeting on 27 June. The details of the meeting are below:
71 Cliff Street, Portland
27 June 2017, 7pm
