Experience the Great South West Walk...

A spectacular walking track popular with locals and visitors, it's stunning scenery, beautiful fauna, wildlife and tranquil setting provide a memorable and serene experience.
With trails that wind around tall hardwood forests, the pristine Glenelg River, aboriginal cultural sites, the mighty Southern Ocean with vast sand dunes, bays and beaches, rugged cliffs, freshwater lakes and the stunning Bridgewater Bay, the Great South West Walk has a lot to offer.

The track is designed for short or long walks, with various starting locations scattered between Portland and Nelson.

While the full 14-day walk is quite popular (250km bush walking trail)  the track is also designed for shorter walks with starting and finishing locations throughout the trail accessible to vehicles.  The walk has been developed, to suit most ages and abilities.

This world-class experience includes four unique walking environments that have been divided up into the Forest Walk, the Glenelg River Gorge walk, the Discovery Bay Beach walk and the Capes and Bays walk – providing sections to meet every walker’s interests.

Fourteen campsites are built along the track with all sites including a pit toilet, fresh water supply and a wood barbecue or stone fire ring.
