What is a Council Plan?

Council prepares a new Council Plan after each election. The plans are made up of a vision, themes (broad areas of interest and importance),  objectives (what we are focusing on) and strategies (what we are working towards), which drive the direction of Council during their term. In practical terms, the direction helps Council to decide where it will invest its time and resources.

Council and Wellbeing Plan 2025-2029

The Draft Council and Wellbeing Plan 2025-2029 is now available to view and provide feedback. The public exhibition period was endorsed at the July Council meeting for a 4 week period from 23 July to 20 August 2025.

The Council and Wellbeing Plan 2025-2029 sets out the strategic direction and priorities of Council for the next four years, ensuring that Council’s work is aligned with the needs and aspirations of the community.

The Plan is built around six key themes and has been shaped through an extensive six-week community consultation and engagement process that aimed to gather a wide range of perspectives on Glenelg’s strengths, challenges, priorities, and future aspirations, with a strong focus on health and wellbeing, the environment, the economy, and governance.

To support the Plan, we have developed a suite of documents that demonstrates how we embedded community voice into the Plan.

Now it’s time for you to Have Your Say on the Draft Plan.
