26 January Grants

The aim of these grants is to provide funding for community-run events on or around 26 January across the Shire.

While Council made the decision in 2023 not to host annual events (including awards) in Portland or Casterton or citizenship ceremonies on the day, it also resolved to continue to support community-run events.

Councils Community Funding and Support Policy(PDF, 474KB) outlines the total funding available for 26 January activities allocated per township within the shire along with the funding requirements.

Annual applications for funds must be made via a written submission to the Chief Executive Officer.
