2026 community grant recipients

Cash injections for hall and facility upgrades, community events and new equipment will be delivered in the latest round of the Glenelg Shire Council’s Community Grants program.

A total of 40 shire-wide community not-for-profit groups and organisations shared in the latest funding round, valued at more than $79,000.

Among the beneficiaries were the Bahgallah Memorial Hall Committee which received $951 for hall kitchen completion project, the Nelson Tennis Club received $1,000 for resurfacing of the tennis courts and Filipino Community of Portland received $5,000 (including In-Kind Council Venue Hire) towards a community event - Kundiman Night: A Bridge to Filipino Culture and Art.

The Merino Mechanics Institute will receive $1,000 for lighting, $398 will go to the Casterton Playgroup for the purchase of two portable sunshades and the Nelson Tourism Association will receive $3,000 towards the 2026 Glenelg Bream Classic event.
