The Portland Arts Centre will be the place this month as a renowned Australian musician brings her haunting vocals, melodies, tropical tempos and tribal beats to Glenelg Shire.

Small Night In with Trudy Fatnowna Edgeley will take place at the PAC on Friday, 21 March, but it won’t just be about the concert, part of the launch tour for her album I AM HERE.

Prior to the event there will be a free Small Night Sing Harmony Workshop, where under Trudy’s guidance, you are invited to join with your fellow songbirds to learn a simple, powerful harmony, and become part of the act later that night. The workshop and performance will be a warm, supportive environment for you to raise your voice, in harmony with your community.

Trudy’s rich ancestry is of Yidinji, South Sea Islander, Jamaican and Irish heritage. This unique lineage and love for country gives her a deep cultural platform to share stories through art, music, and theatre.

Trudy's haunting vocals, melodies, tropical tempos and tribal beats reflects her desire to tell the stories of her rich ancestry from the canefields of Far North Queensland to the shores of Jamaica.

This results in well-crafted songs that have the added interest of fascinating stories which have been seldom told.

I AM HERE shares Australian stories of her rich heritage to bring healing, harmony recognition for her people.

Don’t miss this Small Night In performance at the Portland Arts Centre, where she will keep you enthralled with her warmth, her openness and her exceptional musical skill.

Opening for Trudy will be a name very familiar to local music fans, Gunditjmara songwriter Jayden Lillyst.

Jayden's smooth vocals, guitar prowess, and captivating storytelling are well known throughout the region.

This will be a night to remember as these two artists take to the stage in the intimate surrounds of the Portland Arts Centre to share story and song.
