Calling all budding digital artists
Published on 20 February 2025
Want to explore your creative side, showcase your talent and become an exhibited artist?
Then the Portland Library Youth Space is the place to be in March as it hosts two free illustration and digital art workshops – events run by young people for young people.
These workshops will be run by Nik Engel, a young local who is a talented digital artist, offering custom commissions for unique avatars.
Whether it’s capturing the essence of a character or bringing a client's vision to life, his artistic skills and attention to detail shine through in each personalised piece.
Nik combines his creativity with his love for the gaming world, creating avatars that reflect the spirit of both digital art and trading card games – he is also hosting a come and try workshop for the trading card game Magic: The Gathering at the library in February.
In the March workshops Nik will help participants learn new digital art techniques, refine their skills and create art to be featured in the upcoming Min-Max exhibition – as part of the ongoing Library Arts program.
Participants will get expert guidance from professional artists and can work on their piece for the exhibition.
