Funding has been secured to help deliver two important community infrastructure projects in Casterton and Heywood.
Council has successfully secured funding through the Victorian Government's Tiny Towns Fund to help improve accessibility and functionality at Island Park in Casterton and the Heywood Skate Park.
Mayor Cr Karen Stephens welcomed the funding announcement, saying the projects would provide lasting benefits for local communities and visitors alike.
“This funding is a welcome investment in two facilities that are at the heart of community life in Heywood and Casterton,” Cr Stephens said.
“The Heywood Skate Park is an important space for young people, families and the broader community. Similarly, Island Park is a key sporting and events hub that attracts residents and visitors throughout the year.
“These projects may seem modest in scale, but they will have a significant impact on how people experience and use these important community spaces.
“We thank the Victorian Government for recognising the value of these projects and supporting our communities through the Tiny Towns Fund.”
