Ever wondered how to change a flat tyre? Prepare a delicious meal quickly? Or how to take care of yourself physically and mentally?

If you’re aged between 15 and 25 you could learn all those things and much more soon.

The Glenelg Youth Team is running a Life Hacks program through August and September aimed at assisting young adults of all abilities to gain life skills for everyday challenges whilst having fun and making new friends.

It’s the ultimate toolkit and no previous experience is required.

• Monday 12 August Cooking for One – Easy cooking class for delicious and affordable solo meals. Held at Portland Civic Hall.

• Monday 19 August Community Contact Race – A fun race to get know what your local businesses and services have to offer. Starts at Civic Hall.

• Monday 26 August Simple Car Mechanics – Simple car mechanics to tackle everyday challenges. Held at 9-11 Fitzgerald Street, Portland.

• Monday 2 September Self-care and Self-defence – Self-care and defence techniques for boosting confidence and safety. Held at Portland Leisure and Aquatic Centre.

• Monday 9 September Celebration lunch – for attending any of the sessions above.

Attendance at all sessions is not compulsory but would be beneficial.

Registration for sessions is required and can be done (along with accessing more information on the sessions) through the Youth Team Eventbrite page, Youth Team social media pages or at Youthservices@glenelg.vic.gov.au.
