Glenelg Shire Council is excited to share that the Draft Council and Wellbeing Plan 2025 - 2029 is open for public exhibition until 20 August.

Endorsed at Council’s July meeting, the Draft Plan is the result of a six-week community consultation process that saw residents from across the Shire share their thoughts, ideas, and aspirations to help shape the Plan. The insights gathered reflect a vibrant and engaged community passionate about the future of Glenelg.

Through the consultation, the community was asked to share:

  • What they value most about living in Glenelg
  • Key health and wellbeing opportunities
  • Their long-term vision for the Shire
  • Big ideas to shape the future
  • Changes needed to meet community goals
  • Priorities for the next four years

“The feedback has directly shaped the strategic direction of the Plan, which is built around six key themes. From community health and wellbeing to the environment, economy, and good governance, the Plan reflects the collective voice of you, our residents and what matters most,” said Glenelg Shire Mayor Cr Karen Stephens.

“The Draft Council and Wellbeing Plan 2025–2029 also combines Glenelg’s Community Vision, Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan and the Council Plan into one integrated document. This approach enhances alignment, strengthens service delivery, and promotes transparent decision making.

“But most importantly this Plan reflects the people who call Glenelg home. It’s built on their ideas, their priorities, and their hopes for the future.

“We are incredibly grateful for the input we’ve already received and encourage everyone to look at the Draft Plan. Your feedback will help ensure it truly represents our community’s shared vision.”

Community members can view the Draft Plan (and supporting documents) and provide feedback via the Your Say Glenelg website or in person at Council Customer Service Centres and the Nelson Visitor Centre.

Posters with details on how to have your say will be displayed across the Shire.
