Cruise ship season is well underway as we welcome our second and third cruise ship visits for the summer this Saturday and Monday.

Oceania Cruises' Regatta will dock into the Port of Portland on Saturday 18 January 2025 from 10am, welcoming more than 670 passengers to shore.

The visit will mark one of the busiest weekends in the Shire’s tourism schedule for 2025. The ship’s stopover will coincide with the annual Hooked on Portland seafood and fishing festival taking place along the Portland Foreshore, which welcomes thousands of eventgoers every year.

The Regatta will visit Portland as one of the last stops of a 34 day voyage around Australia and Indonesia. The cruise starts and finishes in Sydney, visiting the Whitsundays, Darwin, Bali, Perth, Adelaide and Burnie.

Following this, NCL Bahamas Ltd’s Norwegian Sun will dock into Portland on Monday 20 January 2025, welcoming more than 1,800 passengers to shore.

This is the second visit for the Norwegian Sun, with a visit just recently in late December 2024.

The Norwegian Sun’s visit to Portland will mark the start of the cruise’s 15-day itinerary around Australia and New Zealand. The ship departs from Melbourne, visiting sites such as Kangaroo Island, Hobart, Milford Sound, Dunedin and Wellington before finishing in Auckland.

As part of the visits, shuttle buses will also transport cruise ship passengers across the local area, promoting key tourist destinations and CBD sites.
