Nominations for Business and Tourism Awards now open

Ensure your business stands out from the crowd by entering the 2025 ACE Radio Glenelg Shire Business and Tourism Awards.

Applications are now open for the prestigious award program which includes nine business and tourism categories, two individual categories and an overall Business of the Year category.

The categories and criteria are as follows:


Manufacturing, Trades or Construction Business

Open to all manufacturing, trade and construction businesses.

Large Retail or Service Business

Open to all retail or service providers with 20 or more employees.

Primary Industry

Open to all industry, such as mining, agriculture, or forestry.

Tourism – Hospitality and Accommodation

Open to any business that provides food, beverage or accommodation.

Tourism Event, Festival or tourist attraction

Open to all events and festivals, tourism products and/or service.

Micro Business

Open to all businesses with less than 6 employees.

Small Business

Open to any business with 6 - 20 employees.

Employee of the Year

Open to all employees who demonstrate high levels of achievement in the workplace.

Young Achiever of the Year

Open to all young people up to and including 25 years of age who have excelled in their chosen career.

Health and Wellbeing

Open to businesses that demonstrate and implement a high standard of workplace health and wellbeing initiatives.

Community Enterprise

Open to community or government not for profit organisations that demonstrate excellence in their service or community contribution.

Business of the Year

Overall award determined by judges.

 

Glenelg Shire Mayor Cr Karen Stephens said the awards were an opportunity to recognise the shire’s outstanding businesses and individuals.

“The Glenelg Shire is home to a diverse and vibrant business and tourism sector. These awards provide a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the dedication and innovation, as well as showcasing their talent to the community,” she said.

“It’s important we support our local businesses to thrive, so if you know of a business that is doing amazing things, make sure you encourage them to apply for this year’s awards.”

Applications for the awards close 5pm, 27 June 2025. Judging is facilitated by an external independent, who will also provide dedicated mentoring sessions to finalists.

Judging and finalist interviews will be held throughout July, with the Gala Awards Night to be held on Friday 15 August 2025. Winners of each category announced and presented at the Gala Awards evening.
