Council is proud to open nominations for the 2026 Glenelg Shire Community Awards, inviting residents to help shine a light on the people and groups who make our community such a remarkable place to live.

The annual awards recognise individuals and organisations who have shown dedication, leadership, generosity and community spirit across the Shire. Council is encouraging community members to nominate someone who inspires them or a group that helps create a stronger and more connected Glenelg.

Categories for this year’s awards include:

  • Senior Citizen of the Year
  • Youth Citizen of the Year
  • Community Group of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Diversity and Inclusion Award
  • Arts and Culture Award
  • Outstanding Achievement Award

Contributions may be in any field including education, health, fundraising, charitable and voluntary services, sport, arts, environment or any other area that enhances the wellbeing and advancement of our community.

Nominations can be submitted online via the YourSay Glenelg website.
