Heywood Apex Park activity boards

Visitors to Heywood Apex Park can now enjoy 18 new activity and animal information boards throughout the park.

Designed to spark curiosity and encourage outdoor exploration, the boards feature fun challenges, fascinating animal facts and nature-based activities that invite children and families to play, learn, and connect with the environment.

Glenelg Shire Mayor Cr Karen Stephens said it was perfect timing for the community to enjoy the new boards as we move into the warmer weather.

“Heywood Apex Park has always been a special place for our community. These new boards bring fresh energy to the space, encouraging families to get outside, be active, and discover the wonders of nature together,” she said.

“From spotting wildlife to completing mini scavenger hunts or creative nature prompts, the activities have been thoughtfully designed to spark fun and lifelong learning for all families.”

The project was proudly supported by VicHealth as part of the VicHealth Local Government Partnership which focuses improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people in Heywood.
