Supporting young people in our community

Glenelg Libraries in collaboration with other local organisations is hosting a free information session to promote local services and supports available to young people in the area.
Supporting Young People – A Community Conversation will be held at Portland library on Thursday, 2 November. Local youth, parents, carers, business owners and teachers are invited to join the community event to learn more about local support services.
The evening will feature presentations by local organisations Brophy, MELI, Wellways, Live 4 Life, Glenelg Shire Council’s Youth team and Glenelg Libraries.
Topics to be discussed will include mental health, alcohol and drugs, gaming and gambling and community events and activities for young people and their parents, carers, employers and mentors themselves.
The event is part of Portland Library’s Libraries After Dark program and will take place between 6pm and 8pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
While the event is free, however numbers are limited so bookings are preferred, and can be made here.
