Update on enterprise bargaining negotiations

Glenelg Shire Council continues to be involved in enterprise bargaining negotiations.

Council’s management is aware of further protected industrial action being taken by some staff and acknowledges the legal right of union members to take such action at this time.

However, it is disappointing that the action is taking place given that a generous offer has been tabled.

Community members should be aware that the escalation of industrial action could result in some disruption to services although management is working hard to minimise the impact as far as possible.

Please continue to contact Council as normal and we will acknowledge and manage your request or query as swiftly as possible.

As before, contingency plans are in place to support continuity of Council services, and to minimise any disruption to services that may occur as part of the action.

Council thanks the community for its patience during this time.

Council continues to negotiate in good faith with the union and all involved in the enterprise bargaining process, having put forward a package which it believes is affordable and balances the best interests of staff and ratepayers in the current financial environment.
