Community members are advised that temporary road management will be in place along Dutton Way.

Dutton Way, below Maretimo, will be reduced to a single lane from 12 February 2025 for the foreseeable future.

Glenelg Shire Council Director Infrastructure Services Aaron Moyne said that Council was responding to safety risks posed to road users.

“Earlier this week the Portland SES responded to a small landslide along Dutton Way. The fallen tree and debris have been cleared, however there are still concerns that more movement may occur,” he said.

“As a result, further assessments will need to be undertaken to ensure the area remains as safe as possible for all traffic.

“Whilst further discussions are held with the Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action (DEECA) and assessments are undertaken, Council will have to reduce the road to a single lane.

“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause. We will endeavour to re-open the road to both lanes as soon as it is safe to do so.”

Council acts as the road manager for Dutton Way, whilst DEECA are responsible manager for land directly adjoining the road.
