Event Waste Trailer

Glenelg Shire provides the Waste Wise Events trailer for community events held within the Shire.

The trailer contains 6 waste bins, 6 recycling bins and bin caps which may be borrowed free of charge by event organisers to provide waste and recycling bins at community events.

The Trailer can be picked up (subject to availability) from a nominated Waste Depot in either Casterton, Heywood or Portland.

Please note:

  • The trailer has a round 5 pin trailer plug, alternative adaptors must be supplied by the user.
  • Each trailer carries 12 bins (6 Rubbish, 6 Recycling).
  • Trailers are designed to carry 12 bins. If less than 12 bins are required then users must supply straps and ropes to secure bins to trailer.
  • Bins stations include both Rubbish and Recycling Receptacles. Ensure your patrons are well informed of the bin system by using clear signage.
  • Users must arrange for bins to be emptied,  cleaned and returned to the nominated depot.

Book the Waste Trailer

Step 1.Complete the Event Trailer Request Form

We recommend you book the Waste Wise Trailer well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Step 2.What you should Include

  • Event Organisers Contact details
  • Event Details, including date/time, location, and estimated attendees
  • Nominated times for collection and return
  • Preferred Pick-Up/Return location ie. Portland, Casterton or Heywood

The Process

Review of your Event Waste Trailer Request 

After our Event Team receives your request, we will review your application, and assess availability. 

You will be advised via email if your request is approved or declined (due to other booking, or ineligibility). 

Confirmation of Booking

If the Event Trailer is available on the required date(s), you will be advised whether to pick up the trailer or if the Glenelg Shire will deliver the Trailer.
