Council seeks feedback on key infrastructure strategies

Draft Road Management Plan

Council is calling on residents to help shape the future of local infrastructure by providing feedback on two important draft documents: the Road Management Plan 2025 and the Asset Plan 2025–2035.

These plans are designed to guide how Council maintains, invests in and improves roads and assets over the coming years.

The Road Management Plan outlines the standards and procedures for inspecting, maintaining and servicing the Shire’s local road network. Meanwhile the Asset Plan provides a strategic framework for managing all Council-owned assets over the next decade - including buildings, parks and recreational facilities.

Glenelg Shire Mayor Cr Karen Stephens said the documents were critical to the long-term success of the Shire.

“These plans are about more than just roads and buildings—they’re about how we support our community’s wellbeing, safety and prosperity,” she reflected.

“Importantly, we ‘ve ensured decisions and actions outlined in the draft plans are aligned with strategic and financial planning. This enables Council to make informed, responsible choices that balance service levels and community expectations all within the scope of our available resources.

“Community feedback is vital to making these plans work. Whether you drive on our roads, use our parks, or rely on Council facilities, your voice helps us make informed decisions that benefit everyone.”

Residents can review the draft plans and complete short surveys by visiting the YourSay Glenelg website at www.yoursay.glenelg.vic.gov.au.

Hard copies, including feedback forms, are also available upon request at Glenelg Shire Customer Service Centres.

Consultation closes 5pm, Monday 22 September 2025.
