Bridgewater Bay Foreshore Master Plan

Bridgewater Bay Foreshore Master Plan Adopted

Council would like to thank those who made a submission to the Bridgewater Bay Foreshore Master Plan.

A total of 25 public submissions were received by Glenelg Shire Council, proving the community’s passion for the area and contributing to the vision for the Bridgewater Bay area.

The Master Plan was adopted at the November Ordinary Council Meeting after community ideas, received during a four week consultation period, were incorporated into the plan by Loone Town Planning.

Former Mayor Cr Robert Halliday said it was important that the community took time to have input into every Shire master plan as these formed the blue print for future development.

“Council’s master plans are prepared as a long term vision for the Shire and these are required for us to be eligible for any government funding,” he said.

“Some of the submissions for the Bridgewater Bay Master Plan resulted in improvements to the draft and some submissions required no recommendations and these were noted.

“We are now in a position to apply for funding for this project as it becomes available.

“On behalf of Council, I want to thank everyone who took time to contribute to the Bridgewater Bay Master Plan.”
