The Heywood Customer Service Centre, which houses the Library, VicRoads and Council offices, will close for eight weeks to receive new flooring – most of the rooms will be recarpeted.

To enable the works to take place the Customer Service centre will close at 5pm on Thursday, 29 February, 2024 and reopen on Monday, 29 April.

During the closure customer service requests will be directed to the Portland Council offices at 71 Cliff Street.

Other services at the Customer Centre such as VicRoads, Maternal and Child Health and the Library will be relocated as follows:

Library: Glenelg Libraries will run the Mobile Library to Heywood each Tuesday between 10am and noon. The Mobile Library bus will be parked near the front of the Heywood Customer Service Centre. It will offer a click-and-collect service (ie) library members will need to request items through the website and pick these up from the Mobile Library. The bus will also be stocked with items for members to browse.

Maternal and Child Health Service: This service will operate from Portland on Tuesdays and as an outreach service on Wednesdays during the closure period.

To pay Council rates, fees or charges (including animal registrations): If you wish to pay over the counter using cash, cheque or credit/debit card during this period please visit the Heywood Australia Post outlet at 50 Edgar Street or one of Council’s other Customer Service Centres at Portland or Casterton. Alternatively these can be paid electronically via BPAY or using a credit card over the phone at 1300 GLENELG (1300 453 635).
