Glenelg Shire Council has introduced a new online events application process, replacing the old paper-based applications system with an online form.

The aim is to provide event organisers with a consistent and simplified process for their applications.

A new Events Glenelg website has been developed in conjunction with the new process and it promises to make it even simpler by providing easy access to event guidelines, forms, resources, tools and templates.

In short, anything you need for your event is available at the new website - visit this page to see for yourself.

Completing the online form is the first step in applying for a permit to stage an event in a Council venue or public space.

Key benefits of the online events application include:

• A user-friendly interface: The online form is intuitive and easy to navigate, ensuring a seamless application experience.

• Faster processing: Applications will be processed faster, allowing you to plan your event with more certainty and less waiting time.

• Enhanced communication: Receive timely updates and notifications on the status of your application through the platform.

To make the transition smoother, Council is hosting workshops in Portland, Heywood and Casterton where attendees can increase their knowledge of the online application process and how to complete the application form.

Whether you're an event planner, community organisation, or just interested in learning more about the events application process, our workshop is the perfect opportunity to gain new skills and insights.

You'll have the chance to network with other community groups, share your experiences, and learn from our events team how this streamlined process will help you.

During the workshop, you'll discover how to access, and complete an online event application and have the opportunity to ask questions, share your ideas, and get insights into the new Events Management Guidelines.

These workshops are free to attend but registrations are required - to register follow the links below or visit the Eventbrite website (www.eventbrite.com.au) and search for ‘Event Application Workshop’.
