Paying your Rates

There are a number of ways you can pay your rates.

See below for the options.

BPAY

Step 1.Have your Rates Notice handy

Your Rates Notice will provide you with all of the information that you need to make your BPAY payment.

Step 2.Visit your Internet Banking site

Use the BPAY Biller Code and Reference Number to make the payment through your internet banking.

 

Online Payment

We accept online payments of your Rates Notice through our website.  

Step 1.What payment methods are accepted for Rates payments made online?

You can pay your Rates bill using your MasterCard or Visa Card.

Step 2.Have your Rates Notice handy

Your Rates Notice will provide you with all of the information that you need to make your online payment. 

The information that you will require to pay your Rates Bill is the BPAY Biller Code, Reference number and the amount you wish to pay. 

Step 3.Ready to Proceed?

Click on the Make My Payment button to commence your Online Payment.  

Make My Payment

Telephone

We can accept over the phone payments of your rates notice by calling 1300 626 388.

Step 1.What payment methods are accepted for Rates payments made over the phone?

You can pay your Rates bill using your MasterCard or Visa Card.

Step 2.Have your Rates Notice handy

Your Rates notices will provide you with all of the information that you need to make your Telephone payment. 

The information that you will require to pay your Rates Bill is the BPAY Biller Code, Reference number and the amount you wish to pay.

Step 3.Ready to Proceed?

Pick up the phone and call 1300 626 388 to commence your Telephone Payment.  

 

In Person

We accept In Person payments of your Rates notice through Australia Post outlets and Glenelg Shire Council Customer Service Centres.

Step 1.What payment methods are accepted for Rates payments made in Person at Australia Post or Glenelg Shire Council Customer Service Centres?

You can pay your Rates bill by Cash, Cheque, MasterCard or Visa Card. 

Step 2.Have your Rates Notice handy

Your Rates notices will provide you with all of the information that you need to make your In Person payment. 

Australia Post require the barcode on the Rates notice to process your payment.

Glenelg Shire Council Customer Service staff require the Assessment Number on the Rates notice to process your payment.

Step 3.Ready to Proceed?

Pop into Australia Post or a Glenelg Shire Council Customer Service Centre to make your In Person Rates payment.  

 

Mail

We accept Cheque payments of your Rates notice by mail.

Step 1.What payment methods are accepted for Rates payments made by mail?

Only cheque payments will be accepted for Rates bill payments made by Mail. 

Step 2.Detach the Payment Slip

Please detach your Payment Slip from the Rates notice.

Step 3.Ready to Proceed?

Please place your cheque payment and Payment slip into your reusable Reply Paid envelope and pop in the post.

Please allow sufficient time to allow for delivery.

Or, if you have misplaced your reusable Reply Paid envelope, you can use a standard envelope and address to:

Centrepay

Step 1.Before you start

You will need the following personal information:

  • Your Centrelink Reference number
  • The amount you wish to pay each fortnight
  • The Centrelink payment you wish this amount to be deducted from
  • The date you wish the deductions to commence
  • The date you wish the deductions to end

You will also require the following Council information:

  • Your Assessment number from your Rates notice
  • The name of the business you are paying - Glenelg Shire Council
  • Council's business address, phone number and Customer Reference Number (CRN)

Step 2.Setup Centrepay Deductions

When you have these details you can set up your Centrepay deduction in one of the following ways:

  • Online using your Centrelink online account through myGov
  • Using the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app
  • At a service centre with help from staff
  • By calling Centrelink on your regular payment number
