Glenelg Shire Councillors have today appointed an Acting Chief Executive Officer.

Greg Wood, the former CEO of Hindmarsh Shire Council, was appointed by Councillors for a term of up to six months following a Confidential unscheduled Council Meeting held in Portland today.

Mr Wood, who will begin his role on 13 November, was CEO at Hindmarsh, in the Wimmera region, for seven years, ending his term there in October.

Glenelg Shire Council Mayor Karen Stephens welcomed Mr Wood’s appointment.

“Mr Wood brings a wealth of experience to Glenelg Shire, following his successful term at Hindmarsh Shire,” she said.

The process for appointing a permanent CEO will continue, to be guided by the Municipal Monitors appointed by the Victorian Government.
