Council recognises the importance of participation in leisure, recreation and sport activities and the contribution it makes to the health and wellbeing of individuals and the community. Our Recreation Team are committed to supporting sport and active recreation clubs to be sustainable and deliver diverse opportunities for people to participate in physical activity in their local community in a safe and welcoming environment.

Grants

The Glenelg Shire Council is committed to enhancing community wellbeing, and encourages and supports a broad range of arts and cultural events, community, sporting, adult learning, social support clubs and organisations through targeted funding programs.

South West Sport

South West Sport are an Incorporated Association formed by a representative body that reflects a broad cross-section of the region including clubs, leagues, associations, organisations, and individuals who make up the regional sport and recreation sector within the South West region of Victoria. South West Sport's governance structure is reflective of the community we serve and strong advocacy power for local needs in relevant local, regional, and state forums.

Sport & Recreation School Holiday Activities - Club Expressions of Interest

  • Are you keen to boost your participation rates?
  • Want to attract more Juniors and Families to your club?
Recreation Services are seeking expressions of interest for clubs to deliver activities for children during school holidays, including 'Come and Try' sessions, clinics or programs. Council will support clubs through advertising and promotion of activities.
Clubs need to have:
  • Current Child Safe Policy (working with children's checks)
  • Public Liability Insurance.

Expressions of Interest for hosting a 'Come and Try' session are to be submitted via email to the Recreation Unit, including a description of the activity, brief outline of your Club's experience for delivery of this activity, when and where you would like to deliver the activity.
