Corella Control

Although they are native birds, many consider corellas to be a pest. Council receives many complaints from residents, sporting clubs, businesses, and schools about corellas. These birds can cause damage to facilities and the environment.

Many have asked that Council take action on this issue and repair the damage caused by these birds. Glenelg Shire also accepts complaints about actions taken to control the birds.

Council have developed a Corella Control Flyer(PDF, 907KB) to present information about control methods. We aim to reduce the impact of corellas on Council-owned land and the Shire.

Recreation Reserve users are encouraged to notify Council via submitting a service request, if corella populations appear to increase at a Recreation Reserve or if corellas are causing significant damage after initial scaring techniques have been attempted by Licenced User Groups.
