Glenelg Shire 2025 ANZAC Day Commemoration services

ANZAC Day services are scheduled to go ahead this year across the Shire, with Community Groups running these events in the normal format.

Portland                 
Portland RSL subbranch will take part in the usual dawn service march of service men and women. 10am community groups, schools, and the public will march from the RSL rooms on the corner of Percy Street and Gawler Street to the Memorial Triangle, via Percy Street, Julia Street and Bentinck Street and finish in front of the Portland Municipal Offices at both the dawn and 11am service.

Following the Portland dawn service, the RSL Subbranch will be hosting a breakfast on the lawns near the rocket shed.

Heywood                 
Heywood RSL Subbranch will host service starting at 10am with a march from the RSL rooms across the town green to Hunter Street and around the block to the Cenotaph in Edgar Street, where an open to the community service will be held. Following the service, the RSL Subbranch will have the kettle boiled for a cuppa with the community.

Casterton                 
Casterton RSL subbranch will host a wreath laying service at 10am at the Cenotaph on Henty Street. A march to the Town Hall from the Cenotaph will be followed by a commemorative service.

Narrawong              
A 6:30am service will be held at the Cenotaph on the corner of Albert Road and Windham Street (near the CFA shed), followed by a BBQ breakfast for a gold coin donation at the Narrawong Mechanics Hall.

Merino                      
A 1.30pm service will be held at the Cenotaph followed by a march to the Merino Town Hall where an afternoon tea will be held.

Digby                        
A 6:30am service will be held at Memorial Park on the corner of Clarke and Simpson St. A march to the Town Hall will be followed by a gunfire breakfast.

Dartmoor                  
A 10:30am service will be held at the Dartmoor Town Hall following a march from the Dartmoor Pub. The service will take place with a guest speaker, followed by a light lunch.

Nelson                     
A 10am commemorative service will be held at the War Memorial at the Cemetery Gates, Huebners Road. Followed by a cup of tea at the CFA Station.
Wreath laying services will be held at each event.
