Volunteers play an integral role in our shire, lending their time and talents, for no reward or remuneration, to support, encourage and enhance the lives of others in the community.
National Volunteer Week (NVW) is an annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation’s volunteers.
To pay tribute to all volunteers who help make our community stronger, the Glenelg Shire hosts Volunteer Recognition Receptions across the Shire during National Volunteer Week. We invite all volunteers within our community to come together and celebrate the valuable contribution they make. Each event includes food, entertainment and guest speakers.
The 2024 Volunteer Week receptions are set to be announced in April 2024.
For further details or to RSVP your attendance, including dietary and mobility requirements to Glenelg Shire Council, Tourism & Events Officer, Sarah Tolliday on 5522 2138 or events@glenelg.vic.gov.au.
