MEDIA RELEASE - Community satisfaction surveys to commence in February

22 January 2019

Glenelg Shire residents are invited to share their views on council’s performance as part of an upcoming community satisfaction survey.

The 2019 Local Government Community Satisfaction Survey will commence in early February and will involve phone surveys to randomly selected households in the shire.

The survey has been commissioned by the Victorian Government on behalf of all Victorian councils and is designed to assess the performance of the Glenelg Shire to identify ways to provide improvement or more effective service delivery to residents.

Mayor Cr Anita Rank encouraged selected households to take part in the survey.

“Over a three week period from 5 February, your household may receive a call from an independent market research agency, National Field Services, who has been commissioned to undertake the survey,” Cr Rank said.

“The agency will ask you to provide your feedback on a range of council services, such as community consultation, roads, waste, customer service, tourism and overall council performance.

“If your household is selected to take part in the survey you have the perfect opportunity to have your say on the services that matter most to you and how they can be improved. The survey will only take a few minutes and your input can shape the future of your community.”

Cr Rank assured residents that all responses would remain confidential.

“Council will only receive the overall results from the survey company, any personal details and individual responses will remain confidential,” she said.

“We really appreciate residents taking the time to assist us with your valuable feedback. If you have any questions during the survey period, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our Customer Service team.”
