Recognise Australia Day at one of the physical or virtual Civic Events happening across the Shire:
Portland
Due to current COVID restrictions, a small civic event will be held for Australia Day in Portland at the Civic Hall from 8am - 10am (breakfast included).
The event will include the official presentations of the Glenelg Shire Australia Day Award winners, including Citizen of the Year.
Community members will still be able to view the presentations, with the event recorded and streamed to the Glenelg Shire Facebook and YouTube channels shortly after.
This event is assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council.
Casterton
Due to current COVID restrictions, a small civic event will be held for Australia Day in Casterton at the Town Hall from 8am - 10am (breakfast included).
The event will include the official presentations of the Glenelg Shire Australia Day Award winners, including Citizen of the Year.

Heywood
A public event hosted by the Promoting Heywood and District Committee will be held for Australia Day in Heywood on the banks of the Fitzroy River from 11:30am.
The event will include the presentation of the Heywood Citizen of the Year, and a barbecue lunch will be on offer from the Heywood Lions and Heywood CWA.

Merino
A public event hosted by the Merino Lions Club will be held for Australia Day in Merino at the Merino Swimming Pool from 11:00am.
The event will include the presentation of the Merino Citizen of the Year.
