MEDIA RELEASE - Digital marketing workshop to assist small business owners

1 September 2017

Make your business stand out from the crowd with help from the Glenelg Shire at a digital marketing workshop next week.

Business owners are invited to the exclusive networking evening, hosted by council with assistance from Small Business Victoria, where expert tips will be provided on how to use blogs, social media and online advertising to strengthen business branding and marketing.

The Your Business in a Digital World workshop will assist business owners to make informed decisions about the right tools for their marketing to create an effective online strategy.

Facilitator Nick Sibbing is passionate about sharing practical, cost effective web and marketing strategies. He has proven experience in helping small and medium businesses succeed with marketing, search engine optimisation, web analytics and social media.

His areas of expertise include website development, SEO, social media marketing, web analytics and Wordpress.
Glenelg Shire Mayor Cr Anita Rank said the session formed part of the Victorian Small Business Festival (1 August – 7 September)

“The online world continues to evolve and today includes much more than a website. The speed of change is extreme and it is vital business owners are online to ensure they are not missing out on potential customers,” Cr Rank said.

“Social media and online advertising is affordable, in fact you can do it for free, and expose your business to a global audience, providing direct traffic to your business website.

“This session will assist in bringing digital thinking to all aspects of your business.”

Participants will learn how to build their understanding of online advertising, search engines, websites and social media through practical exercises and real-life examples at the session.
